For the past two of years I've had the privilege of being the President of the Washington and Baltimore based Capital Area Franchise Association (CAFA).
Last year, CAFA's 2012 luncheon program schedule we were honored to have Stephen J. Caldeira, President & CEO of the International Franchise Association (IFA).
Steve had a standing room only audience and shared his perspective on the state of franchising. He spoke candidly about what the IFA was forecasting for 2012, the priorities for year - credit access, tax certainty, education on health care, veteran franchising and the continued importance and impact of franchising on the economy.
And I am pleased to announce that Steve Caldeira will be back to CAFA to launch our 2013 luncheon program schedule on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, MD.
I can't think of better way to start 2013 than to hear from someone who lives and breathes franchising like Steve does and to learn what he thinks in reflecting on 2012 and what he sees is in store for franchising in 2013.
CAFA was founded in 1989 by franchise professionals in the Mid-Atlantic region, Warren Lee Lewis, a franchise lawyer with Akerman Senterfitt LLP, and well known franchise professionals Mary Rogers and Karen Marshall.
For 23 years CAFA has like clockwork, 6 times a year on the 3rd Tuesday of alternating months, brought together some of the best, brightest and most innovative franchisors, franchisees and franchising professionals to learn and share their franchising knowledge and insights.
CAFA is member organization that is dedicated to the best in franchising and franchise education that encourages guests attendance at all our meetings.
