Franchise Friends - I am helping the IFA put together a session for the 2018 Convention specifically for Franchise Business Consultants/Field Coaches. What topics would be helpful to be discussed for FBC's to improve their outcomes with franchisees? Thanks in advance for insights.

FBC N FCs require n use different engagement approaches...these need to be differentiated to achieve relevant outcomes.... There is need to understand the specific engagement processes....
If you want to have fun with this discussion, grab a copy of my book - The Prom King Bought A Franchise. It covers how to get franchisees to work together and has homework at the end of most of the chapters.
I just thought of one more topic: How to respond when a franchisee says "And what would you know sunshine? You've never run a successful franchise."
Thank you all VERY much for your thoughtful comments and insights. I knew this would be a great forum and place to gain opinions on how we can best help. I hope you all have a great rest of your week and a SUPER, and safe!, 4th of July celebration. Many thanks, again!! Stay tuned for session updates.
Which restaurants in Phx are the best for one-on-one consultations during the 2018 IFA convention...(I know a guy!) :-D
1. Balancing the push/pull between the Franchisor (and members of the Team) and Franchisees when one/both/either are unhappy with the other, and you're caught in the middle 2. Credibility - earning it, keeping it 3. Personal Conduct - how your actions define you, and how to make both success and failure work for you; making a bad call can be okay depending on how you handle it - incorporating Honesty, Integrity, Clarity, Openness. 4. Information - what information you need to keep access to for the future 5.. Time and Task Prioritising/Accountability - Controlling your promises, availability, communication channels, and tasks.
How to bring value by proactively planning the relationship! FbC, should have a game plan for every franchisee. We know they are all different, we will have had interaction on the phone. Drill down to whats most important and what the franchisee will feel is value to them! Deliver undeniable value at every interaction and your franchisee will quickly see you as a resource!
Great topic! In my experience the most positive comments from franchisees over the years have been for good financial consulting. They also need to know branding and other programs important to the company, but a consultant proficient in reading financials will more quickly diagnose both financial and operational issues and this will lead to increased efficiency and profitability.
Great to see the spotlight on this critical component in franchising! I have lived and breathed on both franchisor and franchisee side of the same company (my whole life :), and would add that it is so critical to be aligned on goals, and to do that requires very transparent communication and straightforward support systems that franchisees can rely on. I'd be happy to help out, Susan E. Beth, CFE, and would love the opportunity to share my insights from a very hands-on perspective in a company that is currently undergoing a major rebrand (i.e. lots of anxiety and unknown for franchisees!)
Field coaches.. Thanks
